Vote and Stimulate the Economy! October 27, 2008

Media Push Clients Pushing Valley Consumers to Vote and Shop on Election Day

A group of Valley small business owners are banding together to ask consumers to vote while helping to stimulate the economy by buying on Election Day.

Clients of the Phoenix PR firm and small business specialist, The Media Push, are honoring those who endure long voting lines and confusing propositions with a reward for taking part in American democracy. Voters who visit the companies listed below and sporting an “I Voted” sticker get special offers and deals.

Discounts on useful items and services for car repairs and oil changes or a few indulgent items, like Botox treatments or massages are some of the specials that will be offered by The Media Push clients.

Small businesses make up 99.9 percent of the 27.2 million businesses across the nation. Accounting for about half of all private-sector jobs, they generate up to 80 percent of new jobs each year and create more than half of non-farm gross domestic products. Small business owners are also the first to suffer from a dwindling economy.

“This is a very important time in our lives,” said Charlotte Risch, owner of The Media Push. “Not only are we voting for the next president but many local officials and propositions that will affect our community and small businesses. This is a fun way to cast your support for local businesses in your neighborhood and invest your hard-earned dollars with them instead of big chains.”

Tired of your foundation not matching? Frustrated with your make-up fading throughout the day? The cause of these problems and more could be from expired make-up. Women of the Valley can toss out their old beauty products for a chance to win a year of beauty. Zethina Cosmetics & Skin Care is using their one-year anniversary at the Citadelle Shopping Plaza in Glendale to help customers realize the importance of throwing away expired make-up and discover the fine line between the right and wrong shades for their skin.

Beginning Wednesday, October 1st, Zethina Cosmetics is encouraging customers to bring in their expired make-up to the store and start taking steps toward healthier skin. Nine out of 10 women are currently using products that are past the expiration dates. The out-of-date products are warned to be a “hothouse” for bacteria, according to experts for the College of Optometrists.

“I have some women who have been using the same tube of lipstick for three or four years because it is their favorite color,” said Zethina Haehl, owner of Zethina Cosmetics and Skin Care. “They don’t realize they are carrying years worth of germs on their expired make-up.

The collection of expired make-up will end on Saturday, Oct. 25 with Zethina Cosmetic’s One-Year Anniversary. On the day of the party, customers will be able to guess the number of discarded pieces of make-up that were collected throughout the month with the hopes of winning $2,500 worth products, spa services and make-up. Every customer who participates in the make-up return will receive a V.I.P. pass for the party and receive a free on-the-spot consultation, one extra guess toward the grand prize, plus an additional 10 percent off all products on the day of the anniversary.

The public is welcome to the celebration from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Citadelle Shopping Center located at 19420 North 59th Avenue E-510 Glendale AZ 85308. Light refreshments will be provided along with store-wide sales. Free services will include: brow waxing, hand treatment, make-up consultation with complementary make-up matching, polish change and chair massages.

Mmmm…Pumpkin FACIAL! October 13, 2008

Yum. I was just getting over a cold and Friday morning after I visited a client to do some media coaching, I headed over to the Chandler Derma Health Institute location for a Pumpkin Peel Facial. It was divine! Along with the pumpkin facial, you get a microdermbrasion too. Later that night, I was at a dinner talking to some girls I had just met. When I mentioned my age, both of them remarked that they were amazed I was “that old” because they said my skin looked so good!

I did some research on what is in pumpkin and why its so good for you. Check this info out.

Want to get a Pumpkin Peel Facial? Its only $125. It’s everything you would receive in a full facial with steam, extractions (i.e. black heads) and mask. It includes face, neck and hands and also includes a neck massage and hand massage, all of this as well as a microdermabrasion.

Derma Health Institute offers services such as laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and laser wrinkle and acne scar reduction. New services include permanent make-up application, Vela Shape, Active FX fractionalized laser treatments and Titan body skin tightening for the arms, abs and buttocks. Many of these techniques help customers achieve smooth, firm and fresh, new skin. Derma Health Institute provides customers with free consultations to determine their skin needs.
